About The Position

The Service Porter performs a variety of duties related to vehicle maintenance and service at Mercedes-Benz Stevens Creek. Responsibilities include supporting service write-ups, preparing and inspecting vehicles before customer return, transporting customers and dealership personnel, cleaning vehicles, maintaining the vehicle lot and dealership grounds, moving vehicles, handling keys and parts, testing customer vehicle batteries, and assisting with shop clean-up and deliveries.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle machinery safely.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to operate an automobile.

Nice To Haves

• 6–12 months of previous work experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist with service write-ups and tagging customer cars and trucks.
• Remove vehicle protective coverings and identification tags before returning completed vehicles to customers.
• Inspect vehicles for stains, debris, and damage before returning them to customers, and report damage immediately.
• Transport customers and dealership personnel as needed.
• Perform deliveries as required.
• Clean the interior and exterior of new and used vehicles.
• Keep the vehicle lot neat and orderly, moving units as directed and in accordance with dealership display standards.
• Return vehicle keys to the appropriate service consultant.
• Pick up vehicles from and deliver vehicles to storage.
• Pick up parts from the Parts Department.
• Test batteries of customer vehicles in the service drive.
• Maintain the building and grounds as needed.
• Assist with shop clean-up and deliveries when needed.
