About The Position

The Service Porter performs a variety of duties related to the maintenance and service of vehicles at AutoNation Ford Arapahoe. The role includes assisting with service write-ups, preparing and inspecting vehicles before returning them to customers, transporting people and vehicles, cleaning vehicles, and maintaining the dealership lot, building, and grounds. This is an on-site hourly position with a stated starting pay of $17.50 per hour; the posting also lists a pay range of $15.50–$26.51. The position will remain open until filled.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle machinery safely.
• Ability to drive manual-transmission vehicles.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to operate an automobile.

Nice To Haves

• Six to twelve months of previous work experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist with service write-ups and tagging customer cars and trucks.
• Remove vehicle protective coverings and identification tags before returning completed vehicles to customers.
• Inspect vehicles for stains, debris, and damage before returning them to customers, and report damage immediately.
• Transport customers and dealership personnel as needed.
• Perform deliveries as required.
• Clean the interiors and exteriors of new and used vehicles.
• Keep the vehicle lot neat and orderly, moving units as directed and according to dealership display standards.
• Return vehicle keys to the appropriate service consultant.
• Pick up vehicles from and deliver vehicles to storage.
• Pick up parts from the Parts Department.
• Test batteries of customer vehicles in the service drive.
• Maintain the building and grounds as needed.
• Assist with shop clean-up and deliveries when needed.
