About The Position

The Service Operations Assistant supports front-end store operations by ensuring efficient checkout processes, excellent customer service, and adherence to company standards. This role assists in supervising front-end associates, maintaining service flow, and creating a positive shopping experience for all customers.

Requirements

  • Previous cashier or front-end experience preferred
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership potential with good communication skills
  • Basic math and cash handling knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Support daily front-end operations including registers, self-checkout, and service desk
  • Ensure efficient customer flow by monitoring lines and opening/closing registers as needed
  • Maintain clean, organized checkout areas and service stations
  • Assist with cash handling procedures, tills, and register accuracy
  • Deliver exceptional, friendly, and professional customer service
  • Resolve customer concerns and escalate when necessary
  • Assist customers with transactions, returns, exchanges, and service inquiries
  • Promote store programs, loyalty initiatives, and services
  • Assist in supervising cashiers, courtesy clerks, and front-end associates
  • Help train and onboard new employees
  • Delegate tasks and ensure completion of assigned duties
  • Provide coaching and feedback to improve service quality and efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, cash handling procedures, and security guidelines
  • Support loss prevention efforts by monitoring front-end activity
  • Ensure pricing accuracy and proper scanning of all items
  • Follow all safety and operational standards
  • Coordinate breaks and shift coverage for front-end associates
  • Assist in scheduling as directed by leadership
  • Support store-wide initiatives and cross-department activities as needed
  • Step into leadership role in absence of Service Operations Manager when required
