Service Manager - Commercial Roofing

About The Position

The Service Manager acts as Division Manager for the branch Service Department, serving new and existing clients for commercial roofing repairs and maintenance. This position is a key connection between Flynn and its current and prospective clients and is responsible for growing and managing the Roofing Service business and leading the branch Service Team. The role combines client relationship management, crew and technician coordination, service inventory oversight, and monitoring job-site quality, safety, and training. It also includes technical estimating and takeoff work, virtual presentations, and support for corporate initiatives and business development objectives.

Requirements

5–7 years of experience in commercial roofing, with Service Department experience required.
Strong management, delegation, planning, and leadership skills.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced team environment.
Ability to develop and maintain strong, positive relationships.
Entrepreneurial spirit and drive to grow the business.
Experience using MS Office and Bluebeam/AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Help grow and build the Roofing Service business.
Manage and lead the branch Service Team.
Build relationships and partnerships with current and potential customers.
Communicate with existing customers and explain Flynn Service opportunities.
Follow up regularly on quotes.
Schedule, align, and manage the time of field crews.
Dispatch calls to field technicians and provide necessary job information.
Ensure Service inventory is appropriate.
Monitor quality, safety, and training requirements through regular job-site visits.
Attend association, industry, and networking events.
Plan and attend client meetings based on client interests.
Promote Flynn’s brand and services through marketing and social media channels.
Understand and prepare takeoffs and estimates.
Conduct presentations virtually.
Support corporate initiatives and business development objectives.
Perform other duties as required by the role.
