About The Position

Benchmark Automation & Controls, the Mid-Atlantic’s premier specialist in energy management and automation, is seeking a Service Manager to lead our team in the Baltimore, MD area! The ideal candidate is a technically strong, customer-focused professional who can manage a skilled team of technicians, ensure top-quality service delivery, and drive overall operational excellence.

Requirements

5+ years of commercial experience in HVAC service or BAS controls, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, DDC controls, and BAS integration (experience with systems like Schneider, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Trane, or Niagara preferred).
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to manage service operations, budgets, and customer relationships.
Technical training, associate’s degree, or equivalent work experience required.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in engineering or business preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the service department.
Ensure all service contracts, maintenance agreements, and projects are executed efficiently and profitably.
Supervise, mentor, and support service technicians, dispatchers, and coordinators.
Maintain high levels of customer and team satisfaction through responsive communication and problem-solving.
Develop and implement service procedures, schedules, and performance metrics.
Support sales teams in estimating and quoting service projects and retrofits.
Monitor department KPIs, budgets, and profitability goals.
Ensure all safety and compliance standards are met.
