About The Position

The Service Maintenance Technician performs incoming and outgoing equipment inspections, small mechanical repairs, and preventative maintenance under close supervision of the service manager and with support from experienced technicians. The company supplies the necessary tools and offers training and growth opportunities within the rental operation. The role checks the condition, safety, and proper operation of rental equipment; completes reports on fuel and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) needs; and performs regular service and preventative maintenance to keep equipment safe and dependable. The technician also supports customer satisfaction, maintains product knowledge, keeps the work environment and tools in good condition, and cleans equipment using a wash-rack steam cleaner and high-pressure washer.

Requirements

At least one year of heavy equipment or diesel experience.
May be currently enrolled in a heavy equipment or diesel program.
Demonstrated customer service skills.
Experience using electronic devices such as laptops, tablets, smartphones, and cell phone applications.
Valid California Class C driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Nice To Haves

Certification or a degree from an accredited trade program is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect incoming off-rental and outgoing on-rental equipment for condition, safety, and proper operation.
Complete reports, including recording the fuel and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) required to refill tanks.
Perform regular servicing and preventative maintenance to keep equipment in safe, dependable operating condition.
Remove parts and attachments as needed.
Develop and maintain positive customer relationships to increase customer satisfaction.
Continually update product knowledge to work on new models.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintain shop tools, equipment, and work areas.
Clean equipment using a wash-rack steam cleaner and high-pressure washer.
Contribute to team efforts by completing needed duties.
Perform other duties as assigned.
