About The Position

Works on engineering projects involving critical problems whose solutions require major technological advances and extensive related development. The position is responsible for engineering projects of major complexity within established scope, making authoritative technical decisions and recommendations that significantly affect extensive engineering activities. It applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts; leads the development of innovative principles and ideas; and independently determines improved methods and procedures to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements. The role works under consultative direction and uses independent judgment to accomplish objectives. It also develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities and conceives and plans investigations in broad, important areas where engineering precedents are lacking and which are critical to the program. Other duties may be assigned. The role requires an engineering degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions. Applicants need 13 years in a specific technical discipline or 15 years of broad engineering experience across several technical disciplines with a bachelor's degree. Related advanced degrees may receive experience credit, limited to two years for a master's degree and four years for a Ph.D. An advanced degree is preferred. The position requires the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Travel is up to 25%, and the shift is first shift.
