About The Position

The Service Desk Associate is responsible for service desk administration, membership sales, and maintaining the cleanliness of the facility and equipment. The role provides customer service to members and non-members and regularly interacts with guests, management, and staff while maintaining positive relationships. This is a part-time position at the Holland, Michigan location, with a listed pay range of $14.00–$14.50 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Previous cleaning or maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Excellent phone, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Understand and communicate the Judgement Free Zone concept.
• Accuracy with numbers.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently and with others.
• Positive attitude and willingness to help others.
• Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations.
• Ability to recognize and learn from mistakes.
• Ability to frequently walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp, and reach.
• Ability to frequently move, lift, push, pull, or carry at least 60 pounds.
• Ability to operate equipment such as vacuums and floor scrubbers.

• Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and exchange accurate information.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests upon arrival and say goodbye when they leave.
• Monitor club access for members and non-members.
• Answer questions and handle member and guest complaints.
• Answer phone calls and provide information to prospective members.
• Give tours to prospective members.
• Sell memberships, prepare agreements, and enter new members into the database.
• Operate the Point-of-Sale system and collect balances on past-due accounts.
• Organize and maintain the customer service front desk.
• Schedule appointments for fitness training sessions.
• Complete a club walk-around every 20 minutes and complete checklists.
• Answer questions and provide guidance to new employees.
• Perform beginning- and end-of-shift procedures.
• Clean and maintain equipment, hydromassage beds, chairs, benches, showers, changing stalls, lockers, toilets, sinks, mirrors, hand dryers, and stall tops.
• Dust as needed, including vents; wipe tile, walls, and doors; vacuum and mop floors; replenish toilet paper and soap; empty trash; and organize the cleaning closet.

• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
