About The Position

This internship opportunity is with Hitachi Rail Canada Inc. in Toronto, Ontario, and is designed for students pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field. The intern will support the Urban Rail Signaling Service Delivery Customer Centre by managing incoming and outgoing repair deliveries and coordinating supporting activities to ensure on-time delivery and meet KPI commitments. This is a full-time, hybrid role for Fall 2026, with options for 8 or 12 months. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related program.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Comfortable working with data, tracking information, and learning new systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, organized, positive team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to ERP systems (SAP or similar).
  • Interest in logistics, supply chain operations, or repair services.
  • Familiarity with shipping, transportation, or international logistics concepts is an asset.
  • Familiarity with general transportation rules and regulations.
  • Familiarity with international trade and with Customs rules, regulations.
  • Interest in working in a structured, process-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge/experience with Hitachi Rail products.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with verifying incoming repair material against repair orders (RMAs) and shipping documentation.
  • Support the logging and tracking of repair items in SAP once received and validated.
  • Assist with outbound logistics activities for repairs sent to internal workshops and third-party vendors.
  • Support shipment tracking, status updates, and coordination with couriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
  • Help maintain accurate repair and shipment records to support service KPIs and reporting.
  • Assist internal teams and external partners with basic inquiries related to shipping status, documentation, and delivery timelines.
  • Support data entry, reporting, and continuous improvement activities related to repair logistics processes.
  • Perform other administrative and operational tasks in support of the Spares & Repairs team as required.
