The Service Associate performs the duties of both a branch customer service representative and a teller, primarily in designated traditional branch locations where this hybrid role is authorized. The position divides time between the customer-service platform and teller line, with the balance varying as needed. Associates support sales and service goals, customer account needs, lending activities, and teller transactions while following bank policies and procedures. As an account representative, the Service Associate opens deposit accounts; prepares and processes loan applications; closes loans for applicable business lines; refers customers to other bank business lines and third-party partners; proactively contacts high-value customers to retain and grow the portfolio; maintains accounts; addresses service issues; and supports quarterly sales goals. The role also requires operational compliance and adherence to policy. Teller responsibilities include processing deposits, verifying cash and endorsements, issuing receipts, cashing checks, selling and recording monetary instruments, filing required government reports for large cash transactions and monetary-instrument sales, processing foreign currency purchases and sales, and handling loan payments and credit card cash advances. Eastern Bank describes opportunities for individual growth and provides a Total Rewards benefits program. The bank states its commitment to an inclusive workplace and is an equal opportunity employer.
