About The Position

The Service Associate prepares vacant apartment homes for move-ins and ensures established standards are met and apartments are turned on time. The role may also assist with pool maintenance and grounds keeping when needed. The position reports to the Community Manager and Lead Maintenance Technician and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Hold certifications required by applicable state and local jurisdictions.
• Be skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, user-moved aids, mechanical equipment, and measuring devices.
• Be able to handle plumbing, tile, appliance, carpentry, and electrical repairs, as well as other aspects of apartment make-ready work.
• Demonstrate the ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, or other malfunctions and make repairs or correct problems.
• Use common sense and understanding to carry out instructions and plans.
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with vendors, contractors, clients, and employees at all levels.
• Be able to read and write in English to understand diagrams, meters, and instructions.
• Have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws, OSHA requirements, and EEOC.
• Supply own tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartment homes for move-in.
• Review the make-ready board and follow direction from the Community Manager and/or Maintenance Manager on work to be completed.
• Make repairs and replacements necessary to prepare units for occupancy, as outlined on the make-ready checklist.
• Apply touch-up or full paint to apartment interiors and exteriors as needed.
• Remove trash from apartment homes before, during, and after make-ready work.
• Inspect completed apartments and schedule necessary follow-up work before designating a unit as ready.
• Assist with pool maintenance and grounds keeping when needed.
