About The Position

The Server provides residents and guests with a high-quality dining experience and delivers Platinum Service® through every interaction. The role serves meals and beverages, takes orders, answers menu questions, supports residents during meals, and helps maintain clean and properly prepared dining areas. Servers may also prepare and deliver snacks for community events and provide dining-room support during events and activities.

Requirements

Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel, and the public.
Be capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, residents, and families.
Frequently lift or carry up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
Frequently push or pull up to 30 pounds and occasionally push or pull up to 50 pounds.
Perform bending, twisting, and stooping; reach at or below shoulder level; and frequently stand or walk.
Work with potential or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals; may be exposed to kitchen heat and freezer cold.

Food service and/or hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance and follow established portion-control procedures.
Distribute and collect menus as needed.
Take meal orders, serve food and beverages, and answer questions about the menu.
Follow sanitary regulations and provide Platinum Service® during dining experiences.
Set up meal trays and food carts, and prepare the dining room with utensils, condiments, and napkins; clean common areas before and after meals.
Help check resident trays before distribution.
Pour hot and cold beverages and assist residents with opening containers and condiments as needed, attending to residents' and guests' needs.
Prepare and deliver snacks for special events and parties hosted at the community.
Bus tables during and after meals.
Support other dining rooms during events and activities as needed.
Clean the dining room according to schedules and assignments.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
