About The Position

As a Server at Commission Row, you help ensure a positive dining experience by providing exceptional customer service, accurately taking orders, promptly serving food and beverages, and keeping the dining area clean and organized. A friendly and attentive approach contributes to the restaurant’s overall success. The role includes welcoming guests, assisting with menu selections, handling inquiries and special requests, entering orders into the POS system, coordinating dietary needs with kitchen staff, and performing tableside service such as wine presentations and water service. Servers monitor guests’ needs, promote menu items, and ensure meals are served correctly. Servers also set up and clean tables, help maintain restaurant cleanliness and supplies, collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers, and follow food safety, alcohol service, cash-handling, and company procedures. The position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime compensation under applicable regulations. Nice To Haves

Two or more years of previous upscale and fine-dining service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and make them feel welcome.
Assist guests with menu selections and provide detailed information about food and beverage offerings.
Provide prompt and courteous service throughout the meal, addressing inquiries, concerns, and special requests professionally.
Accurately take food and beverage orders, enter them into the restaurant’s POS system, and double-check orders before submitting them to the kitchen.
Coordinate special requests and dietary restrictions with kitchen staff.
Serve food and beverages promptly and according to presentation standards, including tableside wine presentations and water service.
Promote wine pairings, specialty cocktails, desserts, daily specials, beverages, and other additional items or upgrades.
Monitor guests’ needs, refill drinks, clear empty plates, and provide requested items; ensure meals include appropriate condiments and accompaniments.
Set up and clean tables before and after guest use, and keep the dining area clean, maintained, and stocked.
Assist with overall restaurant cleanliness, including dishwashing and other cleaning tasks as needed.
Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to support smooth restaurant operations.
Communicate guest feedback and special requests to appropriate team members.
Follow health and safety guidelines, including food safety regulations, and company policies for alcohol service and guest conduct.
Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and securely.
