About The Position

As a server assistant, you will support the front-of-house team and help ensure a seamless dining experience for guests at Commission Row, a fine-dining establishment. The role includes maintaining tables and dining areas, assisting servers and kitchen staff, keeping service stations organized and stocked, interacting with guests, and contributing to overall restaurant cleanliness. The position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable regulations. Requirements

Prior experience as assistant service staff is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to take direction and collaborate with servers and kitchen staff.
Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift trays or bus tubs for extended periods.
Ability to lift trays of dishes and bus tubs weighing up to 30 pounds.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Prepare dining tables with linens, flatware, glassware, and other items according to established standards.
Monitor tables, clear used dishes, and keep tables set and clean throughout the meal.
Clear and reset tables after guests depart; transport used dishes, glassware, and utensils to the dishwashing area.
Wipe down and sanitize tables, chairs, and condiment containers.
Offer water and complimentary items to guests and refill them as needed.
Assist servers with delivering food and beverages, refilling drinks, and providing additional items to guests.
Communicate with servers to ensure tables are ready for new guests.
Transport dishes from the kitchen to the dining area and ensure food orders reach the correct tables.
Keep server and busser stations clean and organized; restock napkins, utensils, and condiments.
Empty trash receptacles and replace trash bags as needed.
Interact with guests professionally, respond to requests, and help fulfill special requests or accommodations, including celebrations and dietary accommodations.
Address guest inquiries and concerns, escalating them to servers or management when necessary.
Assist with restaurant cleanliness, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning windows, and maintaining a tidy appearance.
Report maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
