About The Position

As a server assistant, you will support the front-of-house team and help ensure a seamless dining experience for guests at Commission Row, a fine-dining establishment. The role involves maintaining dining tables, assisting servers and kitchen staff, organizing and restocking service stations, interacting with guests, and helping keep the restaurant clean and welcoming. The position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable regulations. Compensation includes tips, and opportunities for advancement within the restaurants are available.

Requirements

Prior experience in assistant service staff work is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to take direction and collaborate with servers and kitchen staff.
Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift trays or bus tubs for extended periods.
Ability to lift trays of dishes and bus tubs weighing up to 30 pounds.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Prepare tables with linens, flatware, glassware, and other items according to established standards; monitor and clear tables during meals; and promptly clear and reset tables after guests depart.
Remove used dishes, glassware, and utensils from tables and transport them to the dishwashing area; wipe down and sanitize tables, chairs, and condiment containers.
Offer water and complimentary items to guests and refill them as needed.
Assist servers with delivering food and beverages, refilling drinks, providing additional items, and preparing tables for new guests.
Transport dishes from the kitchen to the dining area and ensure food orders are delivered to the correct tables.
Keep server and busser stations clean and organized; restock napkins, utensils, and condiments; and empty trash receptacles and replace bags as needed.
Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, respond to requests, help with special requests or accommodations, and escalate inquiries or concerns to servers or management when necessary.
Assist with restaurant cleanliness, including sweeping and mopping floors and cleaning windows; report maintenance or repair needs to appropriate personnel.
