About The Position

The Server is responsible for activities in the Restaurant and Hospitality Department under the direction of the Director, Restaurant and Hospitality. The role supports quality service delivery during meal service, compliance with special diets offered by the community, and communication with Distinctive Living on appropriate matters. The position is described as full-time at Inspired Living of Ocoee and is presented as a potential opportunity for high school students. The Server helps foster a positive dining-room culture, ensures residents have a pleasant meal-time experience, and contributes to efficient meal delivery. The role also involves maintaining a clean dining room and safe work practices, supporting workplace-injury processes when required, and working collaboratively with co-workers, residents, and visitors.

Requirements

Experience in food service is preferred.
Must have compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and able to make decisions.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Pleasant, professional, and personable.

Responsibilities

Develop a positive customer service culture in the dining room through staff training.
Evaluate service quality and develop systems that maximize meal-delivery efficiency while maintaining a pleasant dining experience.
Ensure staff provide service that supports good resident experiences during meal times.
Circulate in the dining room to learn about resident preferences and satisfaction with meals.
Develop service systems that balance quality and speed of meal delivery.
Maintain a clean dining room, including equipment, walls, tabletops and bases, and chairs.
Ensure linens are changed as needed and tabletop condiments and salt and pepper shakers are kept clean.
Work safely and ensure employees working with them work safely; manage unsafe actions.
Comply with the Safety Committee Standard.
When workplace injuries occur, assist the Executive Director as required with investigation, return to work, and communication between the injured worker, care provider, and Distinctive Living.
Foster teamwork, show initiative in overcoming obstacles, assist others beyond job responsibilities, and have a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors.
