About The Position

The Server supports a socially interactive and healthy dining experience for residents and guests. The role uses hospitality and service skills to take and deliver orders, engage with residents, and help ensure they enjoy their meals. The Server also sets up and cleans dining areas and handles food in accordance with sanitary standards and applicable federal, state, and local safe-food-handling requirements. The position includes learning residents’ specialty diet needs and assisting the food preparation team when necessary.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Engage with residents in a friendly manner and provide service with friendliness and a can-do attitude.
• Demonstrate menu knowledge and make suggestions.
• Accurately take food and drink orders from residents.
• Deliver food in a timely manner.
• Check that residents are enjoying their meals and act promptly to correct problems.
• Collect payment from residents and guests when necessary.
• Enter orders into the POS system for transmittal to the kitchen team.
• Maintain personal grooming and hygiene standards.
• Practice safe food handling.
• Complete dining room checklists to ensure readiness, cleanliness, safety, and compliance with department of health requirements.
• Set up and reset tables according to dining room procedures.
• Know residents’ specialty diet needs and where to find relevant information.
• Help the food preparation team when necessary.
