About The Position
The Server works at Havenwood of Onalaska and provides dining service to residents and guests. The role supports residents in selecting meals, fosters positive relationships, and helps create a welcoming dining experience. It also maintains dining and kitchen cleanliness and sanitation, including table setup and clearing, dishwashing, and cleaning floors. The position is hourly and non-exempt, with eligibility for overtime, and has no supervisory responsibilities. The schedule is full time, 60 hours per pay period, with a mix of shifts from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. No travel is required.
Requirements
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to follow emergency protocols.
- Proficiency in English to communicate effectively with staff, clients, and visitors.
- Successful completion of a state-mandated background check.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in dining services, food handling, or customer service is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with seating residents and guests, building positive relationships, and helping residents select meals.
- Set and clear tables, arrange seating, and maintain the cleanliness and condition of flatware and glassware.
- Wash dishes and organize clean dishes in designated areas.
- Clean dining and kitchen areas by vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping while following safety and infection-control procedures.
- Communicate proactively with residents and team members.
- Participate in special projects, assist in other areas of the building, and attend in-service training and team meetings as required.
- Follow emergency protocols.
