About The Position

The Server serves guests and/or members and attends to their needs and requests related to their dining experience. The role provides customer service through menu and product knowledge, accurate orders, timely and friendly service, and anticipating and accommodating guest needs. Servers ensure food is prepared to the guest’s satisfaction and company standards, serve food and beverages, take orders, manage payments, and complete assigned setup, teardown, and cleaning duties.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old; must be at least 18 years old to serve alcoholic beverages.
Must successfully complete food safety, alcohol, and job training.
Sufficient education and literacy to identify and read product labels and communicate with guests about job-related needs.
Knowledge of special diets to help ensure guest safety when ordering food.
Basic knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, and other beverages.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Well-organized, with the ability to take and place food and beverage orders accordingly.
Ability to operate point-of-sale systems.
Detail-oriented and thorough.
Ability to remain discreet and respect guest privacy.
Ability to perform consistent work to high standards.
Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple guests at a time.
Ability to stand for extended periods and walk, bend, kneel, and stoop.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and safely deliver food and drinks on different surfaces.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a server.
Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English.

Responsibilities

Ensure food is prepared correctly, meets customer satisfaction and company standards, and return incorrect or improperly cooked orders to the kitchen.
Serve food and beverages according to restaurant standards in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner.
Help ensure guests have a pleasant dining experience.
Maintain knowledge of menu ingredients, flavors, and suggestions.
Inform guests about daily specials and menu changes.
Take food and beverage orders.
Collect plates and clear tables as customers finish their meals.
Obtain revenue, issue receipts, and accept payments.
Complete basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by a supervisor.
Complete pre-shift and post-shift duties, including setup and teardown of certain stations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
