About The Position

The Server - Day Shift position is integral to delivering an exceptional dining experience to guests during daytime hours. The role focuses on providing attentive, friendly, and efficient service, ensuring customer satisfaction from seating through departure. The server manages multiple tables, accurately takes and delivers orders, and works closely with kitchen and bar staff to maintain smooth operations. The server also handles payments and promptly and professionally resolves guest concerns. The position contributes to the restaurant’s reputation and success by fostering a welcoming atmosphere and encouraging repeat business.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a server or in a customer service role within the food and beverage industry.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
• Basic math skills to handle transactions and calculate bills accurately.
• Strong communication skills for interacting effectively with guests and team members.
• Legal eligibility to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment during day shifts.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, such as ServSafe certification.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and order management software.
• Ability to upsell menu items and suggest pairings to enhance the guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests courteously and promptly during the day shift.
• Present menus, explain daily specials, and answer questions about menu items and ingredients.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate them clearly to kitchen and bar staff.
• Serve food and drinks promptly while ensuring order accuracy and presentation standards.
• Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and address issues or special requests.
• Process payments accurately and handle cash or electronic transactions securely.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including setting and clearing tables.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service flow and provide support during busy periods.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines throughout the shift.
