About The Position

Arrow Senior Living is seeking a Server to join our team at Aura in Cedar Rapids, IA. This part-time position offers a starting wage of $16 per hour. As a Server, you will be responsible for greeting residents, fostering a welcoming dining environment, preparing tables and meals, bussing tables, maintaining cleanliness, and observing residents' dietary habits and appetite changes. We are looking for individuals who are at least sixteen years old, can communicate effectively in English, possess a positive and energetic attitude, and are physically capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The role also involves assisting residents with mobility and ensuring a safe environment. We are committed to promoting from within and value diversity in our workforce.

Requirements

  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
  • Can read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th grade proficiency.
  • Must have a positive and energetic attitude.
  • Must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
  • Must have the ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

  • Greet residents and make them feel welcome.
  • Be present in the dining room, mingle, and entertain residents.
  • Foster an environment where residents can connect.
  • Prepare tables for service, salads for the next meal, or roll silverware.
  • Bus tables and sweep floors.
  • Communicate with supervisors and Wellness when poor dietary habits or unusual changes in appetite are observed, as well as when residents are absent from meals.
  • Assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Assist persons after a fall.
