The position includes performing OS deployments and server onboarding, utilizing automated installations via PXE boot. Responsibilities also cover remote troubleshooting of hardware, OS, and basic network issues using out-of-band tools, coordinating with vendors and field technicians for hardware failures, and maintaining accurate records in asset management and ticketing systems. The role requires collecting and verifying asset inventory data, submitting and tracking media destruction requests, and escalating complex issues to senior engineers. Additionally, the Server Operations Engineer II will support policies, procedures, and operational documentation, and participate in an on-call rotation.
