About The Position

Saratoga Retirement Community is seeking a Server I to join its 94-bed Skilled Nursing Facility in Saratoga, California. The role supports residents during meal service by helping them choose and order food, delivering meals, and assisting as needed in the dining area. Servers may also help with light kitchen duties and maintain clean, ready dining tables. The position pays $22.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE).

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess effective English verbal and written communication skills.
• Pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• Complete other pre-employment screenings, such as a physical, fingerprinting, or TB test, if required by state or local guidelines.

Nice To Haves

• Previous server experience is highly preferred.
• Six months or more of experience in long-term care, home care, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience using point-of-sale (POS) transactional systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with meal selection, including menu ordering, buffet or à la carte choices, and buffet stations as needed.
• Present menus, answer residents’ questions, and make suggestions about meal choices.
• Record orders and relay them to the kitchen production area.
• Know menu choices, ingredients, and preparation methods.
• Deliver food efficiently and promptly, assisting residents as needed.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables for the next meal service.
• Assist with light back-of-house or kitchen duties as needed, such as maintaining the salad bar, serving soup, portioning desserts, or brewing coffee.
• Observe residents to help ensure safety in dining areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
