Part Time Server/ Diet Aide

About The Position

The Server/Nutrition Services Diet Aide prepares and sets up meal trays and portions therapeutic diets for the skilled nursing tray line in accordance with physician orders and posted therapeutic diet menus. The role also helps prepare the assisted living restaurant-style dining room for meal service and takes residents’ meal orders courteously. On-the-job training is provided. Ridgeview is a newly constructed health center offering Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, and Memory Care. Requirements

Strong desire to work with and show empathy for older adults.
Excellent customer service and listening skills.
Reliability, organization, and ability to work as part of a team.
Food handler card; obtainable through the community.
Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
Ability to interpret standardized recipes, instructions, specifications, and standards.
Ability to plan and organize work and prepare trays and plates in accordance with diet orders.

Nice To Haves

Six months of experience as a diet aide or diet clerk in a skilled nursing facility is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Set up meal trays for the skilled nursing tray line.
Prepare and portion therapeutic diets according to physician orders and posted therapeutic diet menus.
Help set up the assisted living restaurant-style dining room before meal service.
Take residents’ meal orders courteously.
Plan and organize work, set up trays and plates according to diet orders, and follow specifications and standards.
