About The Position

The Server Assistant at Big E’s Sports Grill in Holland welcomes guests, coordinates guest flow through restaurant sections, and helps ensure guests are fully satisfied. The role follows Suburban Inns’ Core Values, local health department requirements, and Suburban Inns/Big E’s standards. It involves assisting with table service, maintaining clean and stocked guest areas, handling phone calls and reservations, and completing other duties as requested by management. The starting wage is $13.73 per hour. The schedule varies with business demands and may include day, evening, night, holiday, and weekend assignments. Work is completed on the property; travel to other properties or client locations is not required. A uniform shirt and nametag are provided. Team Members provide their own pants and shoes meeting company specifications: black slacks or dark-wash jeans without holes, and black, closed-toe, non-slip shoes. Hair must be well-groomed. Facial piercings and visible tattoos require management approval; tattoos deemed offensive under the stated policy must be covered or concealed.

Requirements

Ability to interpret or extract information and/or perform arithmetic functions.
Good communication skills.
No formal education or job-related experience required.
No license, registration, or certification required.
Provide pants and shoes that meet the stated uniform specifications.
Keep hair well-groomed and comply with the stated rules for facial piercings and tattoos.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and positively, make personal connections, and help them feel welcome and valued.
Welcome guests as they enter and thank them as they leave, holding the door when possible.
Seat guests at suitable tables according to their needs and the seating rotation.
Assist with table service by refilling beverages, clearing dishes, and fetching and delivering items.
Pre-bus, clear, and wipe down tables.
Wipe down menus.
Answer phone calls, take reservations, and run to-go orders.
Check that restrooms are presentable and stock or clean them as needed.
Keep the Server Assistant stand stocked with items such as crayons and menus.
Maintain regular and recurrent attendance.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
