About The Position

Drift Salon & Bar, located in Muir, a Luxury Collection Hotel, is seeking a Server Assistant. This role is responsible for supporting the service team and ensuring a seamless flow of service and overall cleanliness of the restaurant. The Server Assistant will answer questions about food, beverage, and services, assist with food running, manage garbage and recycling, maintain cleanliness, communicate with servers and hosts, relay guest comments to servers, and follow food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a valid Serve Right Certification, previous restaurant experience (an asset), the ability to remain calm under pressure, organizational skills, the ability to take direction, strong oral communication skills, and a high level of product knowledge.

Responsibilities

Answering questions about food, beverage, wine and other restaurant functions and services
Assisting with food running that plates arrive to the proper guest, using table and seat numbers
Emptying garbage, linen bags and disposing of garbage and recycling
Monitoring the cleanliness of sections and ensuring all materials and areas are clean and free from clutter
Communicating with servers and hosts to maximize seating
Communicating to all servers any comments or information provided by guests to ensure a positive, memorable experience
Following all food safety standards and systems
