About The Position

Directive Consulting is seeking an SEO Strategist for a remote position in Canada. This is a client-facing role responsible for day-to-day client deliverables, creating and managing custom client strategies, and communicating with clients and internal stakeholders. The Strategist will manage Enterprise clients and is expected to have a deep understanding of their service line and its impact on other business areas to create a holistic marketing strategy. Internally, this role is titled Account Strategist, Content & SEO.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of success in implementing SEO principles and content strategy (keyword research, on-page optimization, link building).
  • Analytical insight with the ability to analyze website traffic and SEO metrics using tools like Google Analytics.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable being client-facing and owning relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong familiarity with industry tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog/crawling tools.
  • Proven organizational, project, and time management skills.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO, and Content.
  • Must have agency experience.
  • Must have B2B tech and/or SaaS experience.
  • Driven to stay ahead of industry trends, including actively learning how AI and automation can enhance marketing and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Create custom strategies and implement best practices for clients to achieve NSMs (Net Sales Metrics).
  • Use project phases, client marketing goals, current campaigns, and historical performance to optimize and revise strategies.
  • Craft creative briefs and compelling content campaigns with a focus on ideation based on competitor and audience insights.
  • Utilize LTV:CAC modeling, Customer Generation, Share of SERP, and Content Production best practices.
  • Set goals for clients using data from Google Analytics, CRM data, SEMRush reporting, and Ahrefs reporting, with approval from the Associate Director (AsD).
  • Ensure planned strategies are executed by managing tasks, delegating to team members and clients, and ensuring timely completion.
  • Partner with Project Managers (if present) to ensure tasks are created, assigned, and due dates are met.
  • Collaborate with content writers and designers to complete content campaigns on time and to client standards.
  • Serve as the main interface between clients and the internal team, building relationships and acting as a consultant.
  • Proactively communicate timeline expectations, goal attainment progress, and updates via Slack and bi-weekly meetings.
  • Proactively communicate with internal leadership regarding roadblocks, account growth opportunities, and changes on client accounts.
  • Regularly report client progress and strategy impact through bi-weekly meetings, monthly reports, quarterly reports, and two bi-annual business reviews.
  • Identify opportunities for clients to grow their business with Directive, such as expanding into new service lines or increasing budgets.
  • Ask for referrals at key moments, such as when a point of contact starts a new job or a client leaves a high CSAT score.
