About The Position

Directive Consulting is a leading B2B marketing agency focused on delivering measurable outcomes for its clients. The agency operates through three divisions: Performance, Communications, and Commerce, all integrated to drive revenue. Their methodology, DiscoverabilityOS™, aligns brand and demand to guide target customers. They seek individuals who are performance-driven, enjoy solving complex problems, and want their work to have a significant impact. This role is a crucial, client-facing position responsible for day-to-day client deliverables, creating and managing custom client strategies, and communicating with both clients and internal stakeholders. The Strategist will manage Enterprise clients, requiring a deep understanding of their service line and its impact on other business areas to develop holistic marketing strategies. Internally, this role is titled Account Strategist, Content & SEO.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of success in implementing SEO principles and content strategy, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building.
  • Analytical insight with the ability to analyze website traffic and SEO metrics using tools like Google Analytics.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable with client-facing interactions and owning relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong familiarity with industry tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog/crawling tools.
  • Proven organizational, project, and time management skills.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO, and Content.
  • Must have agency experience.
  • Must have B2B tech and/or SaaS experience.
  • Driven to stay ahead of industry trends, including actively learning how AI and automation can enhance marketing and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Create custom strategies and implement best practices for clients to achieve Net Service Metrics (NSMs), optimizing strategies over the client's lifetime based on marketing goals, campaigns, and historical performance.
  • Craft creative briefs and compelling content campaigns, focusing on ideation driven by competitor and audience insights.
  • Utilize data from Google Analytics, CRM data, SEMRush, and Ahrefs to set client goals, which must be approved by the Associate Director (AsD).
  • Ensure planned strategies are executed by managing tasks, delegating to team members and clients, and ensuring timely completion using Asana.
  • Partner with Project Managers (if present) to ensure tasks are created, assigned, and due dates are met, communicating progress to the client.
  • Collaborate with content writers and designers to complete content campaigns on time and to client standards.
  • Serve as the main interface between clients and the internal team, building relationships and acting as a consultant.
  • Proactively communicate timeline expectations, goal attainment progress, and utilize shared channels like Slack for communication between meetings.
  • Proactively communicate any roadblocks, opportunities for account growth, or changes on client accounts to internal leadership.
  • Regularly report client progress and strategy impact through bi-weekly meetings, monthly reports, quarterly reports, and two bi-annual business review presentations.
  • Identify opportunities for clients to grow their business with Directive, such as expanding into other service lines or increasing budgets within current services.
  • Actively seek referrals from clients at key moments.
