About The Position

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, combining work in the office with remote work from home. The Senior Wiring Designer 2 works in a project team with engineers and other designers on high-voltage substation design. Based on input from substation design and protection and control engineers, the role prepares wiring and related design deliverables. The designer may also provide technical guidance and mentoring to new designers, interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables, and conduct walkdowns at client substation facilities.

Requirements

• At least 12 years of experience preparing and reviewing wiring diagrams for high-voltage substations (138 kV and above).
• An associate's degree in drafting or equivalent technical experience.
• Advanced knowledge of computer drafting tools such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without computer assistance.
• Ability to multitask across projects.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles used to produce technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including relating various equipment to a technical design.

• Prepare AC & DC Schematic Diagrams.
• Prepare Equipment Interconnection Wiring Diagrams.
• Prepare Cable Schedules.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to new designers.

• Conduct walkdowns at client substation facilities.
