About The Position

The Senior Wind Hub Technician is a critical, active role responsible for maintaining optimal function and output at wind sites through daily work on turbine operations, safety, quality control, and warranty repairs. The technician partners with site leadership and management to meet contract requirements and timelines and works across wind sites within the assigned hub. This is not a remote position; the employee is expected to report to any site in the hub as assigned, with local hub travel and up to 100% travel required. Occasional overnight stays may be required. The role involves working on electrical and mechanical equipment used in GE wind turbine generators, applying extensive knowledge of variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines and converter parts, and troubleshooting complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues. The technician reads and explains technical documentation, follows environmental health and safety and compliance requirements, performs diagnostic analysis, develops resolution plans, documents work using computer-based service reporting procedures, and responds to GE’s remote operations center when needed. The position also supports site operations with minimal supervision and mentors peers. The work may take place in industrial, manufacturing, and power-industry facilities. Physical requirements include repetitive handling of 50-pound weights and daily tower climbs up to 300 feet. Employees must remain within manufacturer weight limits of 300 pounds, including required gear. The schedule may include rotating shifts and on-call work according to site needs. The U.S. base pay range is $40.72–$48.44. Geographic differentials of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary apply in certain areas. Relocation assistance is provided. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage; a 24/7 nurse-based health resource and Employee Assistance Program; retirement savings and company contributions; tuition and adoption assistance; paid parental leave; disability benefits; life insurance; 12 paid holidays; and two weeks of annual vacation for new hires, which may be prorated based on start date.
