Senior Visual Designer, Search, Growth UX

Google•Mountain View, CA
•$159,000 - $230,000

About The Position

As a Senior Visual Designer on Google’s Search Growth UX team, you’ll join a multidisciplinary UX team and collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to use user insights to create engaging, intuitive product experiences. You’ll bring an app-first, user-centered mindset, strong visual craft, and a builder’s approach to making design decisions that support coherent experiences and account for execution, longevity, and scale. You will work at the intersection of Google Search’s evolving visual language and mobile growth, helping define and extend the design system rather than simply applying an existing component library. The role includes inventing and codifying native iOS and Android growth primitives, evolving visual styles and aesthetics, and applying systems thinking to understand how design components work within broader product landscapes. You’ll also use AI tools and workflows to prototype and assess outputs critically. Google Search is reimagining how and where people search for information, addressing complex engineering and infrastructure challenges while maintaining a useful, universally accessible experience for people around the world.
