About The Position

Atlas Healthcare Partners partners with health systems to develop, manage, and operate Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs). The Senior Vice President (SVP) - ASC Operations is a crucial member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing a portfolio of ASC operations across multiple geographic regions and health system partnerships. This role involves setting strategy, driving operational and clinical excellence, and managing health system relationships, including JV Boards. The SVP will lead the development and execution of growth strategies, operational and clinical initiatives, and achieve financial performance targets to support organizational goals, enhance patient access, and strengthen partnerships with physicians and healthcare systems. The position requires a transformational leader with executive presence, influencing skills, and proven experience managing complex, multi-site healthcare operations in a highly matrixed environment. The role supports a multi-state market (Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee) and requires extensive travel within the territory. The SVP will directly supervise ASC leadership staff, including Regional Directors of Operations and ASC Chief Executive Officers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent education and experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, with multi-site ASC operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in ASC growth strategy, operational leadership, and large-scale transformation.
  • Strong understanding of fiscal management, regulatory frameworks, business contracts, and physician partnerships.
  • Must currently reside within Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, or Tennessee.
  • Willing to travel extensively throughout the territory.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic and operational oversight for an assigned portfolio of ASC operations, ensuring alignment with mission, vision, and long-term performance goals.
  • Develops and executes comprehensive strategies for regional expansion, including center development, service line diversification, and new market entry.
  • Leads business planning and operational readiness for new ventures and acquisitions.
  • Manages health system partnerships, leads JV Board meetings and presentations, and aligns health systems on performance objectives.
  • Drives continuous improvement in clinical quality, operational efficiency, customer experience, and financial performance through data analytics and benchmarking.
  • Ensures compliance with all legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements, and implements governance structures for consistent execution and accountability.
  • Sets and achieves growth targets in partnership with Business Development, focusing on physician satisfaction, recruitment, and facilitating the Atlas operating model.
  • Builds and maintains high-impact relationships with physicians, joint venture partners, and health system executives.
  • Manages the investment portfolio to promote highest and best returns for partners, overseeing equity transitions and ASC growth.
  • Coordinates with cross-functional departments for streamlined integration of systems and services across new and existing sites.
  • Oversees operating budgets, investment financing, capital investments, and revenue cycle operations, leading cost-containment and margin optimization efforts.
  • Partners with Development to co-lead due diligence, negotiation, and integration of acquired centers.
  • Champions innovative care models, digital strategies, and cultural transformation initiatives.
  • Ensures optimal patient throughput, space utilization, workforce efficiency, and productivity at ASCs.
  • Leads the development of growth-focused marketing, branding, and outreach initiatives.
  • Serves as a key liaison with executive stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, JV Boards, and community partners.
  • Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and professional standards.
  • Provides excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating core and leader behaviors.
