About The Position

UrgentVet provides after-hours urgent care for canine and feline patients, bridging the gap between daytime general practice and emergency or overnight care. Its paperless clinics handle common urgent cases and use cloud-based electronic medical records, digital x-ray, and IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment. The Senior Veterinary Assistant supports patient care, team leadership, and client service in a fast-paced urgent care clinic. The position requires regular on-site attendance to support patient care, respond to time-sensitive needs, collaborate with clinical teams, and help maintain the safety and well-being of patients, clients, and staff. Requirements

Prior customer service experience.
Prior experience working with animals in a hospital setting.
Animal handling experience, including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring.
Clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation.
Professionalism, dependability, positive communication skills, and ability to multitask in a hands-on environment.
Strong work ethic and social and organizational skills.
Ability to lift 40 pounds.
Regular on-site presence is an essential function of the role.

Responsibilities

Provide outstanding patient care, team leadership, and client service.
Handle and restrain patients, collect samples, and monitor patients.
Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation.
Assist with facility maintenance and client education.
Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
