About The Position

UrgentVet provides after-hours urgent care for canine and feline patients, bridging the gap between daytime general practice and emergency or overnight care. Its paperless clinics treat common urgent cases such as wounds, ear infections, vomiting and diarrhea, and euthanasia, and are equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital X-ray, and IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment. The Senior Veterinary Assistant helps provide patient care, team leadership, and client service in a fast-paced urgent care clinic. The role requires regular on-site presence to support patient care, respond to time-sensitive needs, collaborate with clinical teams, and maintain the safety and well-being of patients, clients, and staff. Requirements

Prior customer service experience.
Prior experience working with animals in a hospital setting.
Animal handling experience, including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring.
Clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation.
Professionalism, dependability, positive communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a hands-on environment.
Strong work ethic, social skills, and organizational skills; an energetic, people-and-pet-oriented approach.
Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Regular on-site presence is required as an essential function of the role.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care in an urgent care veterinary clinic.
Support team leadership and provide client service.
Handle and restrain patients, collect samples, and monitor patients.
Perform phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculations.
Perform facility maintenance and provide client education.
