Senior UX Designer, Monetization
About The Position
The Senior UX Designer on Twitch’s Monetization team helps streamers monetize through viewer engagement across Twitch product experiences. The role leads design work at the program level, partners with senior cross-functional stakeholders, presents work to executive leadership, and mentors junior designers. The position reports directly to the Monetization Director of Design. Designers at Twitch participate throughout product development, from conception through execution and iteration. This role includes hands-on research and close collaboration with engineers, with an emphasis on designing human-centered, playful, and caring software. The designer will learn from streamers and viewers, combine qualitative and quantitative information to understand customer motivations, and use those insights to improve designs that support streamers’ communities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of practical UX design experience, with an emphasis on content discovery and/or content engagement experiences.
- Demonstrated interaction design and visual craft skills, including experience prototyping mobile experiences.
- Experience incorporating AI tooling into design workflows.
- Experience streaming, working with broadcasting software, and/or creating user-generated content.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy and roadmaps.
- Aesthetic sense and ability to make confident decisions.
- Demonstrated empathy for people using software or products.
- Expertise with Figma.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a cross-functional development team of product managers, engineers, and designers.
- Learn from streamers and viewers about how they use Twitch services and what they want to accomplish.
- Develop creative solutions to problems that sustain streamers’ communities.
- Use and improve existing design patterns and approaches, contributing to Twitch’s design community.
- Combine qualitative and quantitative information to form hypotheses about customer motivations and improve designs.
- Present work in design reviews and feedback sessions.
- Mentor junior designers and help establish team best practices.
- Lead design work at the program level, collaborate with senior cross-functional partners, and represent work to executive leadership.
