About The Position

As an Interaction Designer at Google, you will use user-centered design methods to create intuitive, easy-to-use experiences, from concept through execution. You will collaborate with design partners, Engineering, Product Management, and a multidisciplinary UX team, using user insights to evolve Google's design language and create innovative products. The role is focused on the Payments Platform design system. Google's Payments team works to make payments simple, seamless, and secure across experiences such as online Autofill, tap to pay in stores, and the Google Pay app, and also supports money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses. You will help deliver cohesive payment experiences across Google product surfaces and use AI to evolve design systems, tools, and workflows.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.

Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.

Experience developing AI-native frameworks and design systems tailored for AI-integrated development environments.

Responsibilities

Advocate for and guide the evolution of the Payments Platform design system, delivering cohesive payment experiences across Google product surfaces.
Build and maintain scalable, reusable design frameworks and principles that simplify standardization, implementation, and cross-product delivery.
Leverage AI to evolve the Platform design system, driving rapid optimization and system variation for seamless user experiences.
Craft, structure, and deliver executive-level narratives and direction for design systems and creative initiatives.
Apply AI expertise to introduce emerging technologies, build new tools, and modernize workflows to expand creative range, boost execution speed, and enhance output quality.
