About The Position

Schwab Advisor Services is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and adaptable Senior User Experience Designer to help shape its enterprise platform for independent Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs). The designer will work with multidisciplinary UX and Product teams to translate user insights and requirements into well-conceived digital products that help advisors scale efficiently, compete confidently, and respond to complex client needs. The position is intended to be performed onsite at the specified location. The role spans product design from early discovery through final delivery. It involves creating solutions with cross-functional product teams, aligning visual design, contributing to the design system, and ensuring products meet requirements and provide consistent, accessible, inclusive experiences. The designer will support multiple product teams, manage shifting priorities, use research and storytelling to influence decisions, and collaborate with partners and leadership to address obstacles and move work forward. The position supports users who rely on Schwab products to manage their businesses and clients’ financial lives. It offers the opportunity to affect how users do business with Schwab and to work with a product design team that fosters learning. In addition to the salary range, the role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.

Requirements

At least 8 years of product design experience focused on enterprise digital products, or equivalent experience.
An online portfolio demonstrating process and design thinking.
Experience supporting both long-term strategy development and detailed design execution.
Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to turn complex concepts into clear, persuasive narratives for diverse audiences.
Proven ability to build relationships and influence design, product, and technology partners.
Strong self-management skills and comfort working directly with partners.
A proven track record of successfully navigating complex situations and projects.
Comfort working in a project-oriented environment, with a positive attitude and solid work ethic.

Responsibilities

Design solutions in collaboration with teams across the enterprise that satisfy client needs and business requirements.
Create product solutions with cross-functional teams, considering how digital, physical, and service channels work together.
Influence product design from early discovery through final delivery.
Align visual design approaches, including layout, color, spacing, and typography, with users’ interactions and system responses.
Work within and contribute to the design system, understanding its structure and implementation methods for patterns and components.
Meet product requirements and deliver consistent, error-free, accessible, and inclusive experiences.
Support multiple product teams simultaneously and manage changing priorities with autonomy and initiative.
Collaborate with Product and UX leadership and cross-functional teams to embed user insights throughout the design process.
Use design expertise to support decision-making and advance iterative product work within scope and budget.
Raise potential roadblocks to leadership and collaborate to remove blockers or identify alternate paths.
Maintain channel standards, content standards, and the Schwab Advisor Services design system.
Use research insights to identify patterns, opportunities, and long-term implications.
Propose solutions that benefit stakeholders and develop arguments to support design positions.
Use storytelling to connect data and insights to business goals, guide decision makers, and influence direction.
Build trust-based relationships and communicate clearly to influence without direct authority.
Collaboratively identify root causes of challenges and determine next steps or new directions.
