About The Position

STV is looking for a Senior Utility Coordinator for the Carolinas Utility Coordination Practice, based out of our North Charleston or Columbia, South Carolina offices. This position requires utility coordination experience for roadway and bridge replacement projects. STV is growing in the utility industry and needs a self-motivated, energetic employee who wants to join this high paced environment. STV is seeking a seasoned coordinator to provide support for QA/QC packages, monitor/drive project progress, serve as task leader for UC on projects, develop UC project deliverables, run utility coordination meetings, and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

  • Utility coordination experience for roadway and bridge replacement projects
  • Self-motivated, energetic
  • Extensive knowledge with the whole process of utility coordination from design to construction
  • Knowledge of construction methods for both utilities and infrastructure contractor
  • Willing to travel (20%)
  • Can manage schedule and budgets
  • Minimum of 5 years of civil engineering or utility coordination experience
  • 2 yr associate’s degree + 5 years of utility coordination experience as a minimum
  • Competency in SCDOT plan reading

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SCDOT and/or a similar agency
  • A four-year bachelor's degree
  • MicroStation/Geopak/Inroads and/or Civil 3D/AutoCAD

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for QA/QC packages
  • Monitor/drive project progress
  • Serve as task leader for UC on projects
  • Develop UC project deliverables
  • Run utility coordination meetings
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Meet/manage multiple utilities throughout the state of South Carolina
  • Identify potential utility conflicts due to roadway/bridge improvements
  • Resolve utility conflicts
  • Comment on schedule
  • Summarize findings to the client
  • Train, mentor, and monitor junior level coordinators
  • Assist the regional head of utility coordination with project staffing, budgets, schedules, business development, and/or client interactions
