Senior User Experience Design Specialist (Multiple Positions Available)
About The Position
SAP America, Inc. seeks a Senior User Experience Design Specialist (multiple positions available) at our Palo Alto, CA location to enhance user experiences by improving the usefulness, usability, and accessibility of products. This role involves translating business requirements and user needs into impactful design decisions and creating user-centered solutions that drive engagement and satisfaction. The specialist will design user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and actionable features, analyze and evaluate applications and user interactions across various platforms, and develop and communicate design strategies effectively. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to implement and refine designs, ensuring usability and accessibility standards are met throughout the design lifecycle. The role also includes creating, evaluating, and modifying prototypes, developing user profiles with an emphasis on human error control and visual interaction, and assisting in developing design concepts and implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- Three (3) years of experience delivering user experiences for software.
- Three (3) years of experience with software design systems.
- Three (3) years of experience with Figma.
- Three (3) years of experience with AI user experience design for software.
- Three (3) years of experience visualizing and communicating concepts and ideas through presentations, workshops, and critiques.
- Three (3) years of experience researching and utilizing new design methodologies, technologies, software UX, and AI tools.
Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements and user needs into impactful design decisions and create user-centered solutions that drive engagement and satisfaction.
- Design user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and actionable features based on business requirements and user needs.
- Analyze and evaluate applications, systems, and user interactions across various platforms, including web, multimedia, voice response, and conversational interfaces.
- Develop and communicate design strategies effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Product Management and Application Engineering, to implement and refine designs.
- Ensure usability and accessibility standards are met throughout the design lifecycle.
- Create, evaluate, and modify prototypes to support evolving software application development.
- Develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation, and task and objective analyses.
- Assist in developing design concepts and implementation, providing input on user design considerations.
- Develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems.
- Produce specifications describing user requirements and internal structures for product in development.
