User Experience Design Specialist (Multiple Positions Available)
About The Position
SAP America, Inc. is hiring multiple User Experience Design Specialists at its Newport Beach, California location. The role conducts generative and evaluative research and synthesizes user insights into findings, themes, and recommendations that inform design and product decisions. It translates product requirements and user insights into flows, interaction patterns, and prototypes, and validates designs with external users. The specialist also explores business AI use cases, designs AI features for complex enterprise workflows, and develops scalable design systems for enterprise software products. The position collaborates with product managers and engineers to align user, business, and technical requirements throughout the design process. It includes maintaining user research resources, documenting design specifications, supporting client-facing workshops and co-innovation sessions, and conducting UX quality assurance. The position follows a hybrid work model and has no stated travel requirement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Innovation, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field, plus five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation; alternatively, a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in one of these fields plus three years of experience.
- Three years of experience translating product requirements into mockups and interactive prototypes using Figma.
- Three years of experience planning, executing, and analyzing user research studies using exploratory and evaluative methods to generate product-improvement insights.
- Three years of experience maintaining user research databases or repositories using research management tools including Airtable and Dovetail.
- Three years of experience facilitating design-thinking workshops in complex enterprise environments with internal and customer-facing participants.
- Three years of experience writing design specification documentation to communicate interaction design requirements to engineering and product management teams.
- Three years of experience assisting product teams with UX quality assurance checks and creating tickets in JIRA.
- Two years of experience creating design systems for interaction design in enterprise software products.
- Two years of experience designing enterprise SaaS software for the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.
- Two years of experience designing business AI experiences, including enterprise chatbots and embedded AI functionality within enterprise SaaS products.
- Two years of experience conducting user research using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Zintro, and UserZoom.
Responsibilities
- Conduct generative and evaluative user research and synthesize insights into findings, themes, and recommendations for design and product decisions.
- Recruit user research participants and maintain the user research database.
- Translate product requirements and user insights into user flows, interaction patterns, and low- to high-fidelity prototypes.
- Validate designs with external users through user research.
- Explore business AI use cases and design conversational and embedded AI features for complex enterprise business workflows.
- Develop and maintain scalable design systems to support consistency, usability, and efficiency across enterprise software products.
- Write design specification documentation and collaborate with product managers and engineers to align user, business, and technical requirements.
- Assist in planning and facilitating client-facing design workshops and co-innovation sessions.
- Conduct UX quality assurance checks to maintain design intent throughout the end-to-end process.
- Assist product teams with UX quality assurance checks and create tickets in JIRA.
