About The Position

CACI is seeking a Senior UAS Technical Analyst to perform and manage the production of analytic products in coordination with project and program leadership at the National Ground Intelligence Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. The role researches and exploits key data sources to assess the capabilities of foreign unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). It applies expertise in swarming, autonomous systems, advanced guidance, navigation and control (GNC), and artificial intelligence to evaluate emerging technologies, combat environments, concepts of operation, and tactics, and to assess foreign systems’ intentions, capabilities, limitations, and vulnerabilities. The analyst coordinates with external partner agencies and research institutions to inform decisions across multiple threshold and objective requirements. The analyst conducts engineering analysis and characterization of foreign UAS design and subsystems, including autonomous systems, flight performance, and tactical effectiveness. The role also assesses potential future capabilities and effectiveness, identifies vulnerabilities for exploitation or threat mitigation, advances threat characterization and signature development, and evaluates the technical completeness, consistency, and reliability of all-source material. The position requires an active, in-scope DoD TS/SCI clearance and is based in Charlottesville, Virginia, with up to 10% travel within the continental United States.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM discipline.
  • Demonstrated capability producing analytic assessments and experience with unmanned aerial systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active, in-scope DoD TS/SCI security clearance; a clearance lower than TS will not be considered.
  • Ability to conduct analysis and produce comprehensive technical assessments involving independent research and technical writing.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while maintaining focus on client-defined research objectives.
  • Analytical and/or hands-on experience with UAVs and UAS.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or PhD.
  • Experience with the intelligence community.
  • U.S. military experience.
  • Academic and practical understanding of advanced robotics and UAS technologies, particularly autonomous systems, multi-agent coordination, and advanced GNC.

  • Assess developing technologies, combat environments, concepts of operation, and tactics to evaluate foreign systems’ intentions, capabilities, limitations, and vulnerabilities.
  • Predict future capabilities and effectiveness based on modifications or evolutionary changes.
  • Identify vulnerabilities for exploitation or threat mitigation through U.S. materiel solutions.
  • Inform decision-making across threshold and objective requirements, including detect and identify, track, and defeat.
  • Increase threat characterization, signature development, and dissemination throughput to address information gaps.
  • Determine technical omissions, discrepancies, and reliability of all-source material using technical constraints and established data on foreign equipment, R&D, and production capabilities.
