Senior UAS Technical Analyst – Autonomous Systems and Robotics

CACI International•Charlottesville, VA
•$98,500 - $206,800

About The Position

CACI is seeking a Senior UAS Technical Analyst to perform and manage production of analytic products in coordination with project and program leadership at the National Ground Intelligence Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. The role researches and exploits key data sources to assess foreign unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and unmanned aircraft system (UAS) capabilities. The analyst applies knowledge of swarming, autonomous systems, advanced guidance, navigation and control (GNC), and artificial intelligence to evaluate developing technologies, combat environments, concepts of operation, and tactics. The work develops assessments of foreign UAV and UAS intentions, capabilities, limitations, and vulnerabilities, and supports decision advantage across multiple threshold and objective requirements, often in coordination with external partner agencies and research institutions. This is a full-time, regular position requiring an active, in-scope DoD TS/SCI clearance. The position is based at the National Ground Intelligence Center in Charlottesville, Virginia, with travel of up to 10% within the continental United States.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM discipline.
  • Demonstrated capability producing analytic assessments and experience with unmanned aerial systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active, in-scope DoD TS/SCI security clearance; clearances below TS will not be considered.
  • Ability to conduct analysis and produce comprehensive technical assessments, including independent research and technical writing.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while maintaining focus on client-defined research objectives.
  • Analytical and/or hands-on experience with UAVs and UAS.
  • Academic and practical understanding of advanced robotics and UAS technologies, with a strong background in autonomous systems, multi-agent coordination, and advanced GNC technologies.
  • Depth of experience analyzing underlying technologies; tangential experience with the general IED or UAS problem set is insufficient.

  • Assess system performance characteristics such as range, endurance, and payload, as well as tactical effectiveness.
  • Predict future capabilities and effectiveness based on system modifications or evolutionary changes.
  • Identify vulnerabilities for exploitation or threat mitigation by U.S. materiel solutions.
  • Inform and support decision advantage across threshold and objective requirements, including detect and identify, track, and defeat.
  • Increase threat characterization, signature development, and dissemination throughput to address standing informational gaps.
  • Evaluate technical omissions, discrepancies, and reliability in all-source material using technical constraints and established information about foreign equipment, research and development, and production capabilities.
