The Local Transportation Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing ground transportation operations. They ensure an efficient, safe, and cost-effective service while guaranteeing the satisfaction of both internal and external clients.

Requirements

  • Academic background: Bachelor's degree or DEC in transportation and/or logistics or other relevant training.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the road transport industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong customer service mindset and solid communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly solve problems and handle unexpected situations.
  • Good knowledge of road transport regulations and safety practices.
  • Analytical mindset to optimize costs and improve operational efficiency.
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to the changes typically found in the events industry.
  • Adaptability and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Must have a driver's license.
  • On-site position, 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for planning and organizing deliveries and pickups for the fleet (between 15 and 50 trucks depending on the time of year), while optimizing schedules, routes, and driver assignments.
  • Coordinate the integration of operations related to equipment subleasing, ensuring rigorous tracking of purchase orders and carrier invoices.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with partners to ensure superior customer service.
  • Ensure operations comply with current safety standards and regulations, while proposing improvements.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of processes to effectively optimize costs and lead times.
  • Ensure the optimization of transportation operations by identifying opportunities for efficiency.
  • Train and mentor junior team members to develop their skills and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Analyze local transportation performance and propose innovative solutions aimed at improving cost management and the services offered.
