About The Position

The Senior Test Automation Engineer is a senior software development engineer in test (SDET) role requiring software development expertise, hands-on coding in JavaScript, TypeScript, and/or C#, and working knowledge of SQL. The role establishes and owns automated quality engineering capabilities supporting the long-term success of the SPM Cloud platform. Initially, the position learns the existing testing framework, release processes, validation approaches, and quality controls used during implementation, while helping prepare STERIS to assume operational ownership. As the platform transitions to an internally managed product, the role defines and executes the automated testing strategy, quality governance framework, release assurance processes, test automation architecture, and quality engineering standards. It contributes to software quality, reliability, scalability, and delivery excellence across future platform initiatives. The posting describes the role as remote, with a preference for candidates in EST or CST time zones; it also notes a Vernon Hills, Illinois location and the opportunity for a hybrid schedule, with candidates within commuting distance preferred.
