The Wake County Sheriff's Office is seeking candidates for our Senior Telecommunicator role to ensure the safety and well being of the citizens and visitors to Wake County. This role serves as the front-line supervisor responsible for ensuring the effective daily operation of the Emergency Communications Center. The Senior Telecommunicator provides leadership, guidance, and oversight to Telecommunicators who receive and dispatch emergency (911) and non-emergency calls for service. This position ensures accuracy, consistency, and professionalism in call handling and dispatch functions while maintaining compliance with agency policies, state standards, and credentialing requirements. The role protects the public by fostering a professional and supportive work environment, holding staff accountable, and ensuring efficient operations under routine and high-stress conditions. It also strengthens responder safety and public trust by ensuring timely and reliable emergency communications services.
