The Senior Technician is a part-time, on-call position responsible for the set-up, operation, and load-out of event-related audio/visual equipment throughout Drexel University's Main Campus. This role serves as a primary contact for event services with student organizations, academic/administrative departments, and external clients during events involving the Drexel University Student Technicians (D.U.S.T.) division of Drexel University Event Services. The events supported include audio/visual support for small to medium-sized performance events, meetings, conferences, and other special events. As a front-line employee, this position directly interacts with Event Services clients and is crucial for ensuring exceptional customer service, making its performance critical to the success of events coordinated through the Event Services Department. Drexel University operates on a quarterly academic term system, meaning classes and events occur year-round. The most event-intensive periods are from September to mid-December (Fall term) and April to mid-June (Spring term), requiring maximum flexibility from this position, although events also occur during Winter and Summer terms. The Senior Technician position is an "if/when" role, with scheduling based on event volume and allotted hours for the position.
