About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Technician to join Collins Aerospace, an RTX company and a leader in advanced aerospace and defense solutions. This role can be based in Windsor Locks, CT or Rockford, IL, supporting our Mechanical Controls Project Engineering team. In this position, you will play a key role in the development and sustainment of critical mechanical systems, including fuel controls, actuation systems, and air valves, for commercial and military aircraft and rotorcraft. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to delivering high-quality products on time in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience in technical support or project coordination within an engineering or technical environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage project-related tasks, priorities, and team coordination effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, and Teams, to track, analyze, and communicate project information
  • Experience with SAP, COPS Database, and Supplier Portal
  • Experience maintaining technical documentation and using tools to track updates and ensure accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Document and improve technical processes, workflows, and best practices to strengthen team consistency and knowledge sharing
  • Track project deliverables and maintain accurate updates in project management tools
  • Provide first-level troubleshooting for engineering tools and escalate complex issues as needed
  • Support product delivery by responding to Supplier Requests for Information (SRI) and Quality Notifications (QN)
  • Collaborate across engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure smooth communication and system integration
  • Work independently within a team environment, following procedures to process and release hardware for external shipment
  • Help drive engineering changes and maintain up-to-date process documentation
