About The Position

Walmart is hiring a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repair of facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets at local retail stores. The technician uses commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete repairs. The role also includes responding to repair work orders and emergency maintenance calls, diagnosing issues, completing required safety training, and following Walmart safety and environmental guidelines and applicable OSHA and EPA regulations. The position is based at 21341 Sam's Dr, Watertown, NY 13601-5508. Compensation packages are based on candidate-specific factors, and the role is eligible for bonus incentives.

Requirements

Option 1: 3 years of experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration; or Option 2: 6 years of experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman qualification.
One year of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or 2 years of Walmart store experience.
Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last 5 years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last 3 years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last 3 years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last 3 years.
At least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or a 2-year Associate of Applied Science program in air conditioning and refrigeration.
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Prior work experience with Glycol and CO2 systems.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets.
Use hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders supporting stores and associates and document repair activities.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
Perform work according to Walmart refrigeration and HVAC safety policies and environmental guidelines, ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines.
