About The Position

Walmart is hiring a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repairs to refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets at Walmart facilities. The technician uses commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete work. The role supports stores and associates through a work order management system, responds to emergency maintenance calls, and follows required safety and environmental procedures. The position is based at the Walmart facility at 4545 S Mooney Blvd, Visalia, California.

Requirements

• Experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration: either 3 years, or 6 years plus an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• Hold and maintain EPA Type I and Type II or Universal certification for refrigerant handling.
• Hold an HVAC-R/mechanical journeyman credential where required.
• Have 1 year of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or 2 years of Walmart store experience.
• Have a valid state-issued driver's license and be able to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Have no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions on a commercial driving record within the past five years.
• Have no more than two moving violations on a commercial driving record in the past three years.
• Have no preventable commercial motor vehicle accidents in the past three years.
• Have no serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the past three years.
• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be able to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a two-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or a two-year AAS program in air conditioning and refrigeration.
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Prior experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Prior experience with glycol and CO2 systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets.
• Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Perform work in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and Walmart refrigeration/HVAC safety and environmental guidelines.
