About The Position

Walmart is hiring a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repair of refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets in Walmart facilities. The technician uses commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete work. The role supports stores and store associates by responding to work orders and emergency maintenance calls, diagnosing equipment and facility issues, and following safety and environmental procedures.

Requirements

Option 1: 3 years of experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
Option 2: 6 years of experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, hold an HVAC-R/mechanical journeyman qualification.
At least 1 year of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or 2 years of Walmart store experience.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions in the past five years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the past three years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the past three years.
At least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a two-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or a two-year AAS in air conditioning and refrigeration.
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Prior experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Prior experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Prior experience with glycol and CO2 systems.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets.
Use commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders and document repair activities.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
Perform work in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and Walmart refrigeration/HVAC safety policies and environmental guidelines.
